Philly Warehouse Blaze Goes To 3 Alarms, Requires All Hands: Authorities

A warehouse fire in Philadelphia went to three alarms and required an all hands-on-deck for fire crews, authorities said.

Philly fire crews responded to a fire in the Port Richmond area at 7:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 13, according to a news release by the Philadelphia Fire Department.

The blaze, which was in a warehouse in the area of Kensington and Allegheny avenues, required all hands almost immediately, to PFD.

About 100 firefighters were initially on scene, the Facebook post states. By 8:22 a.m., the fire escalated to three alarms.

The fire was declared under control at 9:19 a.m., according to the PFD. However, some crews remained in the area as hot spots were still being put out and as the scene was slowly getting cleared.

Extreme caution is still required for those traveling near the location, the PFD stated. Kensington Avenue between Allegheny Avenue and Cambria Street were also still closed for safety reasons at 9:19 a.m.

There were no injuries, according to an NBC 10 News report. The cause of the fire is currently being investigated.
